Pet import export transit. Travelling with pet overseas. We specialised in pet export and import. We also do pet transit via Singapore. For instance dogs, cats and small mammals. Small mammals permitted in Singapore includes hamsters, chinchilla, guinea pigs and small mice.
We are one of the AVS recognised pet agents who able to provide import, export, transshipment and transportation (home-quarantine). Pets Lighthouse is also one of the companies in Singapore able to book Qantas and Emirate flights for snub-nosed breed.
Pets Lighthouse is also able to apply customs permit on behalf of pets owners for their pets’ arrival in Singapore.
For Importation
Current import requirements for dogs and cats to enter Singapore are categorised as follow:
- Schedule I: Australia New Zealand, Republic of Ireland & United Kingdom
- Schedule II: Austria, Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong SAR, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, New Caledonia, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (except Ceuta and Melilla), Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, USA.
- Schedule III: All countries other than those listed in Schedule I & II.
Please note the countries listed in the above schedules do change from time to time.
Pets taken out of Singapore are subject to the same regulations as those returning for the first time.
Dogs and cats from Schedule II countries may need to undergo 10-days of home quarantine upon their arrival in Singapore.
Dogs and cats from Schedule III countries must undergo 30-days of quarantine upon their arrival in Singapore.
There is only one official quarantine station in Singapore and it is often fully booked. Thus, pet owners are advised to make quarantine reservation early. As Singapore is warm and humid throughout the year, it is recommended to book air-conditioned room for your pet’s quarantine stay.

For Exportation
Like house rules, all countries have their own entry requirements and regulations for pets. Most countries require cats and dogs to have ISO microchips, valid vaccinations and health certificates before travel.
Certain countries like Australia, New Zealand & Japan have very stringent import requirements and, preparation to these countries can take up to 6-7 months.

Pet export service includes preparing health documents. For example, applying export license for pet travel. Also, book flight for cargo shipment. Similarly, notify the airline for pet travel as excess baggage or pet in cabin. Also, preparing pet crates for air travel. Lastly, transporting pets to vet clinic and airport.
Submission of Blood samples
If you need help in sending your pet’s blood sample to an approved overseas laboratory for testing, do let us know. We can collect your pets’ blood sample from any veterinary clinics in Singapore and forward them to an approved laboratory in overseas for testing.

Transshipment
Importing refers to the act of bringing an animal into Singapore from another country.
Transshipment refers to the act of transiting Singapore for less than 24 hours during the journey between countries.
For pets transiting in Singapore, we can apply for transshipment licence and arrange flight as manifest cargo for onward travel to destination. During the layover in Singapore, the pet may be transferred to the Airport Quarantine. At Airport Quarantine, we can provide food and water to your pet and also, change bedding if the bedding is soiled. Dogs will be let out for walk.
